Synergetic Systems

Can Transform Your Small Business Web Marketing

Synergetic Systems Make Your Website Stand Out

Synergetic Systems are the new SEO. They take your web marketing to a new level and brings you more clients, more sales & more profits because…

Times are changing. The internet and web marketing is evolving. Most businesses are now online.

Many years ago just having a website meant you were well ahead of the pack. Then every business got online and SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) was the game changer. Then more and more businesses started using SEO.

Now so many web sites are using SEO that if you just use it and no other web marketing strategies, you’re still a me too type of business. Just having a website and SEO won’t put your business head and shoulders above the crowd. It no longer gives you an advantage.

If you want to be top dog why would you do exactly the same as everyone else? You have to be smarter and better than the others, not just follow the pack. In fact, you can’t lead if you’re a follower.

So you need to do more than the same as everyone else.

You have to go beyond SEO. You need to apply Synergetic Systems to get your business to the top.

Become Go To Guy/Gal In Your Niche In Your Area

Using Synergetic Systems and Momentum (SSaM) in your web marketing is all about becoming the go to guy/gal in your particular business niche in your particular area. It’s about being the top dog.

And being top dog means you have a constant flow of new clients.  Synergetic Systems do even more than just get new clients though. They help you keep your clients longer. They help you make more dollars per sale, and they help you sell to your existing client base over and over again.

Your business is more stable. Your income is more secure, and you get more of it. You stress less. You sleep better at night. You live better.

So What Is A Synergetic System?

Synergy is when the sum of the parts is greater than the parts individually.

  • It’s like saying 1 + 1 = 3.
  • It’s like an elite team that achieves far more than each person working by themselves ever could.
  • It’s like an individual that’s “in the zone”.

Things flow better and things happen better.

A Synergetic System is just that: a system. It has a number of components that all work together.

We use a suite of marketing strategies that work together so well they become a synergetic system that propels your website and your business well ahead of the “me too’ websites.

A website, it doesn’t matter how beautiful it is or how effective it is, is just one component. It can’t achieve synergy or momentum by itself.

Does your website stand out from the crowd? Or not?

SEO won’t make it stand out. It only puts you on par with other SEO’d sites.

That’s why we use “Synergetic Systems”, a suite of marketing strategies that work together….

… to to make your website and your business stand out from the “me too” sites.

You Need Momentum Too

We all know what momentum is.

Very simply, an object at rest will stay at rest and an object in motion will stay in motion unless a force acts on it.

Think of a rocket going into outer space. You have to apply a tremendous force for a short time to get it to escape velocity, then it will coast for hundreds of thousands of years with no more force applied to it without significantly slowing.

It’s a bit different on earth. We do have forces slowing us down, like air resistance, friction, and gravity. So we apply a force to build up momentum and get something moving at our desired speed. Then we keep applying a force, but a smaller one, to keep it moving at that speed.

It’s the same with our small businesses. When you start you have no momentum and no clients. You have to apply a force (e.g. advertising) to get clients. In fact you might have to apply a lot of force for some time to get to get to the level of business you want.

The goal is to get to the point where new clients come easily, so do repeat sales from existing clients, and you’re making more dollars per sale. That’s your business momentum, and that keeps your small business more profitable and more stable.

And, Synergetic Systems are the best way to get the momentum happening and keep it happening.

SSaM Makes Your Marketing More Scientific, More Predictable & Far More Effective

Synergetic Systems and Momentum (SSaM) takes the “guessing and hoping” out of your web marketing and makes it more effective and more predictable.

Most small businesses never achieve a high level of synergy and momentum in their sales. They just don’t have the right marketing system in place for it. High performing small businesses use some or most of the synergetic system of web marketing, but often don’t realize it is a system so they don’t take full advantage of it.

That means that if you use the SSaM system for your small local business you have a good chance to be top dog, the go to person for your type of business in your local area.

But Just What Is Synergetic Systems & Momentum?

The Synergetic System has a lot of components. We’ll go through them one by one and see how they affect the whole and how they work together.

The Web Site

Yes, you absolutely have to have a website.

Facebook, Google My Business and directory sites like Yelp cannot take its place because:

  • You don’t “own” any of them, and you can be banned for life for some transgression, imagined or real
  • You can’t build a landing page on them
  • You can’t run pay per click ads to them
  • Your clients will (maybe unconsciously) put a black mark against your business if you don’t have a website
  • There is no way you can dominate your local search without a website.
  • You can’t achieve synergy

Not just any website will do though. It has to be mobile friendly because over 50% of searches are now made by mobile, and Google will mark you down if your site isn’t mobile friendly.

And it must be direct action, designed to get visitors to do something, whether it’s request a quote, buy now, download an ebook or just like you on Facebook. Most websites aren’t direct action.

And it must be multi page because that gives you more chances of being found in Google, and it keeps people on your site longer (if you’re giving good relevant info) which Google loves. In fact it’s part of their ranking algorithm.

Your website is the heart of your synergetic system. It’s important for getting new customers, for retaining customers, and it can educate your customers so they spend more money with you.

Content is why the bulk of people visit your website, join your email list, go to your facebook page etc.

They’re looking for solutions. They’re looking for information.

Some are looking to buy, they just want to know why they should buy from you.

You need content that your potential clients are looking for. It could be reviews, or how to guides (including how to use your product for example), or anything else your target market is looking for. It could be info about your product/service so they can make that buying decision.

We work with our clients to work out a content strategy, which is content for the website when it’s first built (10 content pages) and more topics for at least one page a month for 6 months. We do that from your intimate knowledge of your industry, from keyword searches, and from checking out other sites in your industry.

Interesting relevant content keeps visitors on your site which Google loves and rewards with higher rankings. It positions you as a knowledgeable friendly expert. It makes visitors more likely to subscribe to your newsletter.

And the content can be used in different ways. It can be on a webpage and on your facebook page. It can be used in your newsletter. It can be used in an ebook to be given away or even sold.

Content can be text or videos or images.

Yes, SEO is important, and must be used on your website. It is part of the way you get high rankings in Google. SEO is an important part of getting new customers.

But as we’ve mentioned, SEO by itself isn’t enough to get you high Google rankings anymore, because many businesses now use it. By itself it won’t make your website stand out.

Google My Business and the ‘3 Pack”

As you know, Google is the 900 pound gorilla of web marketing. It is by far the most important search engine for your business.

And if you want to be the top dog in your niche you absolutely have to be in the 3 pack. Which is the 3 local listings highlighted when someone searches for a local service. It’s an important part of the synergetic system and building and maintaining momentum.

Getting your business listed on Google My Business is the first step in getting there.

Citations are links from local directories where your business is listed. These are sites like Yelp, Travel Advisor, HotFrog, the online Yellow Pages etc. You can list your business and NAP (Name Address and Phone Number) and maybe photos and a description of your business.

These directories can get high rankings in the search engines, and they’re an important part of getting into the Google 3 pack.

They are important for getting new business, and off course are part of the Synergetic System.

Backlinks are links from other websites to your website. They are an important part of getting your website ranked highly in Google and other search engines, so they’re important for getting traffic to your website and for getting new clients.

Be aware though. The links have to be quality and they have to be from a site that is relevant to your site, for example in the same line of business and you must get them over a period of time.

If Google thinks you’re trying to game the system they’ll hate you and give you low rankings, if you’re not banned altogether.

Reviews are another vitally important part of the Synergetic System. They’re important for getting you new clients, because 88% of people regard reviews as good as getting a personal recommendation from a friend and “nearly 9 out 0f 10 consumers read online reviews to determine the quality of a local business”. (From

Good reviews help with getting into the Google 3 pack, and they’re shown in the 3 pack.

If you’ve been in business for a while you’ve probably already got online reviews. You need to work on getting more, and they need to be mainly good reviews.  If you care about your clients they will mainly be good. (We help our clients get more good reviews). A word of warning, only ever get genuine reviews. Never write your own or pay to get good reviews.

If you get a bad review, you need to respond to it. Apologise if your business has done wrong, and fix the problem.

Get Permission To Keep In Contact.

Once again, vitally important. In fact some marketing gurus say the main function of a business website is to get an email address.

Being able to email your clients or people that have shown interest in your product or business can make you a fortune. You can sell to email list over and over again. In fact it is far easier to sell to an existing client than to a new client.

And you can keep your clients for months or years rather than have them drift off, never to be heard of again.
And if they are people that are interested in your product/service but don’t buy immediately you can keep in contact so that when they are ready to buy they buy from you.

An email list is immensely powerful and is just about your most valuable marketing asset. If Google and Facebook ban you, you can still contact your list and still make sales.

With online businesses on average each person on your email list is worth $1/month. That means if you had 1000 emails in your list you could be making an extra $1000/month. Of course in a local area ythe size of your email list is limited, but every little bit helps.

Facebook Page

A Facebook page is important but not for the reason you may think. It’s not particularly good for getting new clients. It is good for retaining clients and for making more dollars per sale, and for making more sales.

You need a Facebook page and a strategy to make the most of it.

You Are Part Of The Synergetic System

You are part of the Synergetic System and you are important. You bring a lot of industry knowledge to the table that is needed for content marketing. You need to help to get the keyword selection started. You need to help with the content strategy.

You need to give a starting point for the web design by selecting a few websites in your industry you like the look of. And you’ll need to review the design as the website is being built. Of course the website has to be effective so it has to be built to marketing principles so it’s not just a case of good looks.

You’ll have to supply content including text and photos. If you’re a client of ours, the text can be rough. We rewrite it for readability on a monitor, for effectiveness and for SEO.

You’ll help get backlinks by answering questions people ask on various websites (We monitor the questions, send them to you and you can answer them directly on the website. It doesn’t take long and it may only be every week or two.)

Gaining Momentum

Momentum takes time to build. A rocket uses massive force for a short period of time to build huge momentum, but that approach doesn’t work with web marketing. It’s more likely to get you banned by Google.

Content, citations, backlinks an email list, Facebook followers and reviews all help your momentum. You need all of them to build a proper Synergetic System and to get maximum momentum.
You have to allow at least 6 months to get momentum going, and of course you’ll continue to build all of these for as long as you have a business.

What we recommend is a 6 month campaign to actively build your momentum, then if you wish you can scale back.
Remember that here on earth there are forces slowing you down even when you hit your desired speed so you have to keep applying some force just to stay at the same speed. It the same with your web marketing. If you get to where you want to be and then stop building you’re in danger of going backwards, or being passed by one of your competitors who does keep building.

Continuing to add pages to your website helps stop that, and of course you’ll want to keep adding posts to facebook and emailing your list.

Measure, and Things Get Better

You can spend forever playing around with how your website looks and with what you’ve written, and the same with every other part of the system. You can tweak and tweak and tweak based on your feelings and your opinion.

But there’s only one way  to know what’s working and what’s not, and that’s to measure the results.

It’s part of the science bit of Synergetic Systems and web marketing. Science depends on measuring and so does effective web marketing. You can see what’s working and what’s not so you can change things where necessary to get better results.

You need an analytics program to see what’s happening on your website, what pages people visit, how long they stay, what your bounce rate is and all sorts of other important data. We set up every website we build or update with Google Analytics. What’s more, we look at it and learn from it, and you can too.

As well as Google Analytics we check websites we build or maintain monthly to see what’s happening with rankings, reviews, local business listings, Google My Business, SEO, Social Media etc.

We set all our clients up with their own dashboard so they can see as well.

You need to know where you’re starting from too, so we’ve got a free website audit available at the bottom of this page. It’s a detailed multi-page report.

Momentum takes time. If you don’t have much to start with it can take a while to see results. In fact with a brand new website it can take 6-12 months to start ranking well. That means for several months at least you may not see a lot of business coming from your website.

It can feel like you’re pouring money into a black hole with no results.

That’s one reason why it’s important to measure results from the 6 month campaign, and why it’s important for you to have your own dashboard to check. You can see month by month how your backlinks and citations are growing. You can see the reviews mounting. After a while you’ll see Google rankings starting to move.

It helps you keep the faith and keep moving forward.

The 80/20 Rule

I’m sure you’ve heard of the 80/20 rule before.

  • 80 % of your results comes from 20% of your efforts. The other 20% of your results come from the other 80% of your efforts.
  • 80 percent of your profits come from 20% of your clients.
  • 80% of your website visitors come to 20 percent of your pages.
  • 80% of your visitors come from 20% of your advertising.

So you can see it’s important to find out what the critical 20% is and do more of that. Measuring results is pretty important here.

It’s also important not to obsess over the 80%, or to waste too much time on it.

Synergy Systems  In Action – How They  Work

Hopefully you can see what’s happening here.

Citations and backlinks and an optimised website with lots of valuable content gives you a high Google ranking and gets your business into the Google 3 pack.

People search on Google for a product/service like yours and your website shows up in the 3 pack and high in the search engine results page. A well crafted title and description (part of the SEO) entices the searcher to visit your website.

Your direct action, mobile friendly website converts site visitors into buyers, or they’re added to your email list. Over time you can convert the lookers into buyers, and you can sell to the buyers over and over again.

Your content whether it’s on your website, your facebook page, your emails or an ebook or white paper educates people interested in your product or service so they spend more money with you.

People spend time on your website because of the valuable content. Google ranks your site higher because of that so more people see your site in the search engines and visit it and spend time on it…

Because of your excellent service you get rave reviews on Google my Business and other sites, so more people contact you and/or click through to your website and get on your email list or become a Facebook follower.

It’s a virtuous circle of marketing and sales, and it’s all because of the Synergetic Systems and taking the time and effort to build momentum.
